A brutal day at Lime Rock for all those in hand

It was a killer today at the track. Blazingly hot conditions, tight (and not exactly contact free) racing, and massive crowds meant everyone had their jobs cut out for them. Both participants and spectators alike had to overcome the odds. We missed all our connections with team members of various teams, so no inside scoops this time, but the guys at Black Swan invited us into their garage to snap a few pics. Internet was none existent so I didn't bother with many iPhone pics, but give me a few days and I'll have the real deals up soon. For now me and the misses are in need of showers and food, so signing off for now...

Made it safe and sound up to Connecticut, lots of cars here for the race (we have a grip of Corvettes at our b&b) so it's sure to be a blast. More tomorrow!

Finally out of NYC on the way to Lime Rock Park

Waterfest 16 - and this weekend

Just one quick pic from Waterfest 16 before I head out again this weekend. The Mrs. and I are going up to Lime Rock Park for the ALMS race (and her birthday) so you can expect on-the-spot posts and pics as long as my cell service manages to hold up. Next week we'll touch base on the few bits and pieces I managed to grab at Waterfest, plus a little catching up on the APR team and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.

And now, a late update: A Lettuce Slaughter in the Woods

Before the insanity of Waterfest took over last week I had promised a few more pictures of Josh's art opening here in NYC. The passion for the VW is well known by those who are friends with Josh, and as such the curator of the show, who consequently painted on / over / around the pieces in the show, specifically requested a photo from Josh featuring some element of this culture.



The show, A Lettuce Slaughter in the Woods, was orginized by Dave Miko, and is at Real Fine Arts, on Meeker in Brooklyn.



The show closes in 18 days so you don't have a ton of time to go check it out, but if you do, look for the shaved bay Mk1, now officially a part of the NYC art world.
